Description of Project

The 14 storey Medinah Hilton Hotel comprises 360 deluxe guestrooms & luxurious suites. Polaron’s task was to provide a lighting control system which would compliment the interesting blend of the building’s modern architecture combined with historical Islamic design, which was achieved successfully.

 

Technical Details

The dimming system uses Polaron’s ‘Lightlink’ range of products. Scene setting is provided either locally from wall mounted push button plates, or remotely from an LCD touchscreen or the central PC. A maintained isolator is incorporated into each panel to allow the essential lighting to operate should the non-maintained mains supply fail.

 

Design Features

10 button micro-processor control plates were supplied with 8 preset scenes to allow mood lighting as per lighting designer’s scheme. Polaron’s unique LDMS lighting control software is installed on a dedicated PC, allowing control of all areas/lighting circuits from one central location. The system also incorporates a partitioning function to enable each ballroom to be controlled as one complete area or split into any configuration.
