Project:
Al Faisaliah Centre
Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Contractor: Saudi Binladin Group
Description of Project
The Al Faisaliah Centre, owned by Saudi Arabia’s largest commercial
real estate developer, the King Faisal Foundation, is certainly
an impressive sight. The 55,000m2 development includes a 5-star
hotel, banquet & conference centre, luxurious private residences,
a retail mall and Saudi’s first skyscraper, the 267m tall Al
Faisaliah Tower. Polaron were invited by the client to provide
full design and implementation of a customised lighting control
system for the tower and apartments which included the atrium
lighting, banquet hall, restaurants, recreation areas, reception
areas & private conference rooms.
Technical Details
Standard & custom equipment was used to create a system to
meet the client’s specific requirements.
A remote fault detection system enables diagnostics and reconfiguration
to be carried out from Polaron’s Headquarters in the UK via
an ISDN link.

Design Features
The client chose 8-button lighting control plates with raise/lower
function & programming socket.
Plates were finished in Polished Brass, to complement the surrounding
decor.
A multiplexor interface linked the Dining Hall & Banqueting
Hall for combined central control.
A PC with Polaron’s unique ‘Lightlink Programming Software’
was installed to allow complete control of the system from one
central location when necessary.
